The time to celebrate has finally arrived! The winner of the 2012 Week of burger, Burger Bar Crescent hosted a 5a7 event for many burger lovers by offering mini-burgers and mini-poutine for free.
The center of attention was delicious and now famous Poutine Burger, the winner by popular vote during Burger Week MTL. For its achievements and its delicious taste, the burger won the first ever annual Burger Week MTL best burger trophy.

Your Vote Matters… and So Does Your Dinner!

After a long day at work and then waiting in line to dutifully vote for the next Quebec Prime Minister, who wants to even start thinking about what to cook for dinner so late in the evening? Cue Burger Week Montreal to rescue your growling stomach! What better time to hit up a participating Burger Week restaurant close to your polling station than after filling your ballot?
So, after you’re done reading up on the candidates’ platforms online, check out the Burger Week Montreal restaurant list and map and find out where you’ll be having a tasty burger on September 4th. Don’t forget; you have the right to take up to 4 consecutive hours to vote during polling hours. After using 3 of them to vote, it still leaves you an entire hour to savour a burger!

The whole team has been working hard to make sure all systems are go for Saturday, September 1st. Needless to say: It's been hectic here at the office. We call it an "organized chaos."

The Official Burger Week Voting Cards Have Arrived!

The official Burger Week voting cards have arrived at Burger Week HQ today.
Each restaurant will be given a hefty stack of these cards to distribute to their customers during Burger Week. While Burger Week is all about the unique burgers that make these Montreal restaurants great, you don't have necessarily try that restaurant's unique burger to be able to vote.
Once you have your voting card, you can either scan the QR code from your camera-enabled smartphone, or visit http://www.burgerweekmtl.com/vote/ to enter the access the polls. Select your restaurant, and enter their unique password to cast your vote and leave some feedback about your visit...

Burger Week Video Goes Viral!

In less than 48 hours since its upload, the video that explains what Burger Week Montreal is all about, has gone viral.
The video explains what Burger Week is about, and is done in 8-bit animation style - giving it that retro look. The video was actually inspired by BurgerTime, a popular video game from the early 80's.
"We figured the event is like a game, with its voting system, points, achievement unlocks, and prizes - so it was a relevant theme for this video." said Jason Mainella of Cyber Relief - the Montreal web design firm who developed the Burger Week website, and sponsored the video.

Burger Week Montreal 2012

Montreal Food Week is proud to be throwing Burger Week in Montreal. September 1st through to September 7th at least 30 locations across the Island of Montreal will be offering limited editions of their best burgers. Burger Week is a celebration of Montreal’s unique and diverse food industry that will challenge this great city as to what it defines as a burger.
Personally, I’m very excited. As the official blogger for the week I’ll have the enormous responsibility of having to sample Montreal’s Finest Burgers. Initially I had presumed that I’d simply going across great Montreal burger joints and get to sample their limited creations. I was right, partly. Beyond great Burger joints, plenty of other restaurants are also taking part in the inaugural celebration.
